This is all the more true given the constant improvements of these tools. The first such improvement was the integration of mobility management. “Expense management tools are becoming travel companions”, observes Stéphane Donders, CEO of Traveldoo. Geolocation features help choose the right hotel or restaurant and voice recognition gives users the possibility to dictate relevant information, such as the names of travel companions, the goal being to reduce typing as much as possible. Today applications even allow users to take a picture of their invoices and let an OCR (optical character recognition) technology transcribe the data, which is then validated by the hierarchy through an approval workflow before being automatically imported into the accounting software and processed for reimbursement.
